Good Morning!

 

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces. 

 

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold,

broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the

 

summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them:

 

and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth (Daniel 2:34-35).

 

This drawing of Nebuchadnezzar reminds us of his dream: the great image and the stone.  We've looked at Jesus' statement that everyone who falls upon the Stone will be broken but upon whomsoever the Stone falls, it will grind him to powder (Matthew 21:44).  It's hard for most people to believe that. It's hard to even notice that. Either you come to that Stone and fall upon it or it is going to come to you and grind you to powder. I had much rather run to the Stone and say: "Oh please break me!" That is my personal testimony from years ago and not merely a figure of speech. All that I am and ever hope to be stems from my falling upon the Stone. One of my favorite hymns is "Rock of Ages, cleft for me; let me hide myself in Thee."

The Stone is one of many figures of speech in the Bible that speak of Christ in his role of Savior and Judge. The Stone is coming back to this earth to put down the awesome rebellion against Him by the human race. The whole of mankind, especially the upper crust of philosophers, educators, and politicians are determined to organize the earth's population into a wonderful utopia of happiness and productivity, all of it without God. The Humanist Manifesto II of 1973 asserted: "No deity will save us. We must save ourselves."  So, the Stone is coming. It is presented in detail in Revelation 19:11-21. There is not enough room for that passage here. I hope you will read it today and many times thereafter. 

 

Jesus taught us to pray: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). In your heart of hearts, have you understood what you were praying? Have you understood that He was not mincing words or playing with your mind?  Have you understood that a literal kingdom of Christ is coming on this earth in keeping with the 2^nd Chapter of Daniel and many other prophecies?

 

The Stone appears in: Zechariah 14:1-3; —  in Joel 3:2,  9-16;  —  in Isaiah 34:1-8, and Psalm 2.  The action of the verses is testimony enough that it is the Stone at work. I urge you to look up all these passages and mark them in your Bible. Write them on cards and work at memorizing them.

 

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ (1Corinthians 10:4).

 

Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel (Exodus 17:6). When Jesus died on the cross, He was smitten of God and crushed.

 

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink (Numbers 20:8). The rock at this point has already been smitten or struck. Once was enough. We may now come to the Rock and speak to Him and out of Him will come living water and we may partake of it. Moses had a temper tantrum and disobeyed God in striking the rock instead of speaking to it. For that sin, he was forbidden to enter into the Promised Land. That was not a picture of losing one's salvation but a picture of losing position and rewards for disobeying God.

Digging Deeper  

 

Forgetting occurs when new things cover over the more recent things. Oh, it's still there. The experts say we never forget anything. We tend to forget the painful things. We also forget the things we don't use. I can remember my Grandpa Carr fairly well and yet his grave stone shows that he died a 2-3 months before my fourth birthday. As I have revisited my early childhood by trying to remember, things have surfaced that I had forgotten. The more I think about them, the more they seem like they are fresh memories. Strange how that works. With God, we have to be diligent in remembering the things we have seen that came from the hand of God. And we have to be careful about letting go the things in our hearts that used to control our thinking and planning. Moses got it right when he warned us to work at remembering the good things, the things of God in our lives.

Nebuchadnezzar's Image and the Incoming Stone in Daniel 2 Cannot be Overemphasized.   Please memorize the numbers: 2—7—9—13—17.  Daniel chapters 2, 7, & 9.  Revelation chapters 13 & 17. These chapters are the backbone of Bible prophecy. Daniel 2 is complete within itself and should be read over and over and over. It is limited in detail but great for simplicity and telling the whole story in a few words.

 

The image in Nebuchadneezar's dream does not move. It is a form of communication from the living God that this pagan king can understand. He lived in the leading city of pagan idols. No doubt he worshipped these images erected to devils. In essence, God is saying: "Nebuchadnezzar, let me show you something you've never seen before." 

 

Something about the image troubled the king. Without moving, the image troubled him. Actually, it was probably the stone that troubled him. The stone that reduced the great image to powder and was carried away with the wind; that troubled him. And then the stone filled the whole earth. Nebuchadnezzar had seen many silent images that just stood still and commanded allegiance. But such a dynamic stone he had never seen. The stone troubled him really bad. May God trouble us in our time of self-centered neglect of God.

 

This is God's picture of history in advance. It covers the time line from the days of Nebuchadnezzar until Christ returns to earth to set up His kingdom In Jerusalem upon the throne of His father David. From that throne He will rule the world for a thousand years. At the end of the thousand years when the earth will be cleansed with fire, His kingdom will continue throughout eternity—forever.

 

Isaiah said:   Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:7).

 

The angel said to Mary: Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end (Luke 1:30-33).

Digging Deeper  

 

God is the keeper of our souls. But there is a real sense in which we are guardians of our own souls in our relationship to the living God. This is not talking about the keeping of our eternal souls in a saved condition. It is talking about keeping the lines of communication intact between us and God. It has always been easy for God's people to forget Him….to neglect Him. God delivers us from some great calamity and it doesn't take us long to forget His help. So, the solution is to take heed to ourselves. Be on guard. Work at it hard. This thing God will not do for us. We have some responsibility in our walk with God.

Good Morning!

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold,

broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the

 

summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them:

 

and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth (Daniel 2:34-35).

 

The Stone. Daniel is interpreting Nebuchadnezzar's dream to him.  I've been encouraging folks to memorize the numbers: 2—7—13—17.  This morning as I was reading the Daniel chapters again, I realized I had left out chapter 9. My apology!  Oh well, it won't be hard to stretch the numbers to: 2—7—9—13—17.  That's Daniel 2-7-9 and Revelation 13-17. That's the combination to unlock the blueprint of history from the days of Nebuchadnezzar until The Christ returns to earth to set up His kingdom in Jerusalem upon the throne of His father, David. That is the coming of the Stone.

 

I like to use Nebuchadnezzar's image as my reference point in thinking about the four world kingdoms. When Jesus and the apostles were walking on the earth, the Roman Empire was in its iron legs of absolute power. But the Roman Empire fell in on itself and disappeared from sight. Rome is now coming out of its dormant state and reshaping itself around the Mediterranean Sea as it did before. But the Roman Empire will never again be on iron legs. It will now become the feet and toes made of iron and clay.

 

Then will come the stone as described in the verses above. I hope you enjoyed reviewing the pictures I sent yesterday of the European Union now taking place. It is going to quietly become the most powerful government structure in the world and it looks like it is now moving at a fast pace. But it will endure only a few years because The stone is coming to completely destroy it.

 

Jesus made it clear that He is that Stone. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder (Matthew 21:44).

 

The psalmist had already declared Him to be the one who would demolish the kings who resisted Him:  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying:  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision (Psalm 2:2-4).

 

The final result for the rebellious kings is:  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel (Psalm 2:9).

 

This is surprising news for people today who have decided that Jesus was limited to telling stories and holding little children in his lap. Indeed He is that. But He is also the mighty God.

 

If you fall upon that stone—if you come just as you are and cast yourself upon Him without one plea except that His blood was shed for you—then you are broken upon that stone. You come by faith and rest upon Him as the rock of your salvation. But if you will not be broken upon that stone, then there will come a day in which that stone will fall upon you and you will be ground to powder just as Nebuchadnezzar's image was ground to powder by the stone as it fell upon its feet and was ground to powder as we find in Matthew 21:44 above.

Digging Deeper   We are still remembering that before the Gutenberg Press (pictured at left) no one had printed books; did not have a Bible or Bible portion except what was printed by hand. Even so, God commanded His people to hide His word in their hearts. It wasn't just hiding His word in their heads, but in their hearts. Nothing has changed. Today God still commands us to hide His word in our hearts and to use it to measure and define mankind in general and especially to measure and define ourselves.

 

The Bible and Darwin's evolution are incompatible. Either we accept the Bible by faith, believing that we have great evidence for believing it, or we accept Darwin's ideas of an evolution that came out of what is now called the: "Big Bang". It is called the "Big Bang" because math geniuses like Albert Einstein forced the other scientists to accept the fact that the universe is running down from a higher state of energy. Instead of calling the higher state "creation," they chose to call it a "Big Bang!" An explosion of unknown causes. That was easier for them than believing there is a living God who made everything.

Good Morning! - Daniel 2:34-35 - League of Ten Nations Moves Closer.Part 2 - 2009.12.01

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth (Daniel 2:34-35).

 

I thought it would be good to pass along some photos for you to file away in your study of Daniel 2 & 7, and Revelation 13 & 17. The Roman Empire has been awakening itself especially since the end of World War II.  Don't worry about it unless you are not saved, i.e. not a genuine born-again Christian.  If you are not a genuine Christian in whom the Spirit of God dwells, you need to worry about it a lot until you open your heart to the Lord and get saved. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." (Acts 16:31) See Romans 10:13; John 3:16.

 

If you don't get saved before the church is taken out suddenly in the twinkling of an eye without warning, then you will be left behind to see firsthand what the Roman Empire and the anti-Christ are all about. You don't want to do that. You will believe the lie of the anti-Christ and when you take the mark of the Beast on your hand or forehead, your soul will be damned forever.

 

Pictured here are a painting of the Tower of Babel done in 1563, by Pieter Brueghel the Elder, and a photo of the new European Union Parliament Building in Europe (Strasbourg, France).  The new EU building was finished and inaugurated December 14, 1999. The Parliament meets in this building every month for four days or so. Was it designed to look unfinished like the Tower of Babel or is that coincidental? 

 

Some say that the Parliament Building is built to look like the Coliseum in Rome. If that is true, it is shaped to mimic the the most widely recognized symbol of the Roman Empire. When the Rome Coliseum was built, the Roman Empire was in the iron legs of the image in Nebuchadnezzar's dream in Daniel chapter 2. Today, the Roman Empire is coming to life in the feet of the image in Nebuchadnezzar's dream and it is made of iron and clay which lack stability and strength.  It is destined to be smashed into powder by the stone cut out without hands in Daniel chapter 2.

 

Some say that the tower's unfinished nature reflects the unfinished construction of Europe. Since we were not party to the meetings of the planning committees, we can only guess what they really had in mind and look for other clues. While we cannot dogmatically connect the Tower of Babel to the new EU Parliament Building in Strasbourg, neither can we merely write it off as coincidence.  The EU also occasionally meets in Brussels, Belgium and Luxembourg. Germany.

 

Below on the right of the Tower of Babel painting is a poster produced by the European Union, symbolically depicting their mission.  It combines the 12 stars of the EU flag with the rebuilding of the tower of Babel with the motto Europe: Many Tongues One Voice. Note also that the stars are shown as inverted pentagrams, an occult symbol for Satan. Regardless of what the current 27 member nations believe about the EU Parliament Building being built to resemble the Tower of Babel, their appointed officials who designed the poster knew what they were doing. Was it a "cool advertising gimmick" or were they making a point? You may not be able to see it, but the people in the lower left corner of the poster all have square, block heads. All except the woman in the lower left corner who is holding a baby. The baby has a round head, which is symbolic of its lack of education to be like the others.

The European Union has chosen a woman riding a beast as their official symbol.

Please note: The last signature of the 27 members of the European Union took place in November, 2009. David Miliband, Foreign Secretary, and Prime Minister Gordon Brown of the UK (England and Northern Ireland) signed for the people of that government, betraying promises that had been made to the people by Prime Minister Tony Blair that there would first be a referendum.

Former Prime Minister of the UK, Tony Blair, had been courting the committee for some time for the job of Prime Minister of the European Union, once it was officially formed. But current Prime Minister Gordon Brown of the UK suddenly signed the UK into the EU in an overture to secure the Prime Minister of EU job for himself. He did not get the job after all. He mostly was able to betray his countrymen.
